Summer Reading Question (literature)

Do you think Mr. Lewis would have taken Bud to the Grand Rapids if Bud ahd told him the whole truth? I honestly think that Mr. Lewis would have definitely helped Bud get to the Grand Rapids even if Bud had told him the whole truth. In the novel Mr. Lewis is described as a very understanding and good hearted man, he had waited to see if there was a boy behind the bushes, gave Bud a treat, and trusted/ believed Bud's every word at late night. He cared for a boy he had never met in his whole life that had been hopelessly walking up a sidewalk out a town dangerous to be around at night. Not only had Mr. Lewis found out about Bud, but he brought him to his house, let him rest there, provided him food, and gave him a comfortable ride to the Grand Rapids. Bud had of course being the very clever child he is, told Mr. Lewis a somewhat half truth and partially lied. Mr. Lewis according to the novel had trusted Bud and gave his 100% to help him reach Herman E. Calloway. However in my opinion, he would have most definitely understood Bud' s problem and tried to help him. He may have even come with him to make sure he gets to Herman E. Calloway when they had reached the Grand Rapids. Mr. Lewis would have probably tried to really find out if there was a connection between Herman E. Calloway and him and if not he may have even let Bud stay with him or find him a much more decent home than his prior one to stay in.
