Bullying (Man's inhumanity to man) Literature

Regardless of how well society knows that bullying is bad some people tend to do it anyway. Bullying can occur for several different reasons. For instance if a person feels insecure about themselves, in order to cover that up they may feel the need to put someone else down, therefore making themselves feel superior. Bullies could possibly also have issues at home with family, teachers, and/or friends and may feel the need to take out their anger on others. Like in Lord of the Flies Jack bullied Piggy for the reason to have superior authority over everyone. Jack knew Piggy was very well capable of taking charge of everyone, because of his high intelligence. However Jack was the one who wanted superior authority over everyone in place of Piggy. In order to keep Piggy from taking charge with his intelligence Jack put Piggy down by making fun of his appearence; his specs, how he's fat, and his asthma. By this Jack was able to get everyone to think that Piggy was useless and could do nothing, therefore giving himself a chance to take over. Although society knows bullying is bad it's just something that will never end there will always be people with insecurities or the need to take their anger out on someone else.
