Most Tap Water Polluted By Dirty Municipal Infrastructures

“Even when cities claim their water is clean, they may still add toxic fluoride chemicals and chlorine, which we know promotes bladder cancer. Filtering your water is crucial for protecting your health," said consumer health advocate Mike Adams. World over millions of people drink tap water oblivious of new studies showing tap water is no longer clean. Tap water is said to be purified by the municipalities and then sent through pipes to our taps at home. However the "clean water" that we're putting through pipes is getting dirty on the way. Honestly that's a wasted of water especially clean water considering our minimal supply of fresh/clean water in the world. Old pipes corroded and rusting is one factor of the becoming of clean to dirty water in a pipeline. Just imagine drinking the same water which you thought was clean now has rust in it. Unfortunately our pipes in countless places over the U.S. are so old that somewhere along the pipelines from the water tanks to our houses are ruptured, causing a sufficient loss of clean water. Not only are we loosing this precious water, but it is being contaminated with pollutants and diseases from the ground. Dirt and numerous other impurities from the ground are being added to our clean water on the way to our homes. With our limited supply of fresh water these days that hopefully everyone is aware of, we cannot afford to loose or contaminate our clean water.

Honestly I know most people these days have their own water filters at home as a precaution to any impurities that they might ingest. People tend to use bottled water and/or their own refiltered water at home. I have admit I do the same as well, I filter my own water at home and use bottled water as well outside the house. Unfortunately not every person in the U.S. does this. Out of the 300 million residents in the U.S. there are still thousands of households families, adults, and kids ingesting polluted water, and that's just in the U.S. Regardless in accordance to the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974, there are 170,000 public water distributions at work and municipalities are spending each year 50 million dollars to purify and supply this "clean water". “If you clean up water and then put it into a dirty pipe, there’s not much point,” said Montana State University microbiologist. I of course agree with this, that so much time, effort, and money is put into purifying water it's most definitely useless if the water is just getting dirty on its way through a pipeline. Water research scientist, Timothy Ford said,“I consider the distribution system to be the highest risk and the greatest problem we are going to be facing in the future." However I don't agree for this to be the "greatest problem", disregard impurities in our drinking water for a moment, although this may be important to humans but pollution in general is a threat to our generation and generations to come. Contamination itself whether through drinking water, animal habitats, or our breathing air in my opinion is going to be the major threat for years to come for life on earth. "Jack Hossbuhr, executive director of the American Water Works Association, estimates that the cost of replacing existing pipelines over the next 20 to 30 years is going to cost water utility companies some $250 to $350 billion."Replacement of these pipes in adverse circumstances with our economic issues today may not allow us to be able to replace our existing pipelines for years and years to come!!!!http://www.naturalnews.com/021504_water_tap_water_water_pollution.html
